Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use Attesta — the iOS, iPadOS, and macOS app, the website at attesta.cc, and any service we provide.
By using Attesta, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please stop using Attesta.
What Attesta is
A paid recording, transcription, and structured-summary app. You tap Record, an audible signature tone plays so people in the room know you’re recording, and Attesta returns a searchable transcript and a short summary.
Your responsibility when recording
Recording laws vary by country, state, and context. Some jurisdictions allow one-party consent (you can record any conversation you’re a part of). Others require all parties to consent. Attesta makes recording known by playing an audible signature tone at the start of every capture — but that tone is a transparency mechanism, not a legal substitute for consent where consent is required.
You are responsible for:
- Knowing the recording laws that apply to you
- Getting consent where it is legally or ethically required
- Not recording conversations you aren’t a party to, except where law permits
- Not using Attesta to harass, stalk, surveil, or harm anyone
We make the signature tone audible specifically so the people around you know. The decision to keep recording is yours.
Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Attesta. Some jurisdictions require older ages — comply with the minimum that applies to you.
- You sign in with Apple or Google.
- One account per person. You may use one account on multiple devices that belong to you.
- You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account. If your account is compromised, write to legal@attesta.cc immediately.

A single recording is capped at 60 minutes. The app stops automatically at the cap.
Prices are set by us and shown in US dollars. Your App Store charge may differ based on your local currency and Apple’s regional pricing.
Billing, refunds, cancellation
Subscriptions
- Pro Monthly and Pro Annual are auto-renewing subscriptions billed by Apple’s App Store.
- Cancel any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds for subscription charges are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Top-up minutes
- Top-up minutes are consumable in-app purchases.
- They are non-refundable once credited to your account.
Per-recording minute charges
- Cancelling a recording before transcription starts is free. If you cancel during capture or while still uploading, no minute is metered.
- Cancelling once transcription has started does not refund minutes. Once your audio reaches our transcription provider, the per-minute cost is incurred — we pay it, and so do you. The app lets you cancel anyway so the recording leaves your library, but the minute is not returned.
This is intentional. The per-minute model is honest: when work happens, you pay for it. When work doesn’t happen, you don’t.
Deleting your account
- You can delete your account from inside the app. Your data is cascade-deleted server-side within 30 days.
- Deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription. Cancel that separately in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Apple will continue to bill you.
Your content
You own the audio you record and the transcripts and summaries Attesta generates from it. We do not claim any rights over your recordings beyond what is necessary to deliver the service to you (storing, processing, transcribing, syncing across your devices).
We do not use your recordings, transcripts, or summaries to train any AI model — ours or anyone else’s.
What we own
The Attesta name, logo, app design, code, brand, and website are ours. Reverse-engineering, redistributing, or building a competing product from them is not permitted.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Attesta to:
- Violate any law, including recording-consent laws in your jurisdiction
- Record without consent where consent is required
- Harass, stalk, defraud, or harm anyone
- Probe or break the service (denial of service, account takeover, scraping)
- Reverse-engineer or copy the app’s code or brand
- Resell or sublicense your account
We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules. We’ll tell you why when we do, except where the law prohibits it.
Service availability
Attesta is provided “as is.” We aim for high uptime but don’t promise zero downtime. If a service provider we depend on (Apple, Supabase, Deepgram, our language-model provider) has an outage, Attesta may be affected.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited (e.g. gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Attesta and its operators from any third-party claim arising out of your use of the service, including claims related to recordings you made.
Termination
You can stop using Attesta at any time. To remove your data, delete your account in the app.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that creates legal or operational risk for us.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct conversation will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in India, unless you have non-waivable consumer rights to a different forum.
Changes
We may update these terms when the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top is the source of truth. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect. Continuing to use Attesta after a change means you accept the updated terms.
